Subject: file system usage

On OS X there is a nice command line utility called fs_usage that displays file
system activity in real time, so if you are puzzled about what the computer
is up to, you can see what files are being accessed. Is there any equivalent
program in Linux? (I'm running Ubuntu...). Any comments appreciated.
